Important Information
Before using the various means of transport, it's important to bear the following things in mind:
- Tickets are the same for each mode of transport.
- Don't try to ride for free, especially on the metro. There are conductors at almost every station, and at almost all times of day. They are on the lookout for tourists, and will ask for your ticket 90% of the time.
- Tickets can be bought in the airport, at the metro stations, tobacco and newsstands, and from the conductors themselves.
- Conductors should wear a bracelet and identity card with a photo, be aware, as some people try to make money pretending to be conductors.
- If you buy a travel card valid for several days, make sure the date is written on it, and if not write it yourself - if your card doesn't have a date you may be fined by the conductors.
