Danube Folk Ensemble
The Danube Folk Ensemble was established in 1957 and is one of the most popular traditional Hungarian music and dancing groups.
The Folklore Ensemble is made up of 30 dancers and a traditional orchestra with 7 musicians. The Ensemble’s aim is to adapt traditional Hungarian Folk and make it more dynamic, contemporary, and unique. It has also been adapted for theatres and performance halls and has become more commercial.
The Danube Folk Ensemble’s artistic director and choreographer Zsolt Juhász has transformed the group into one of the most versatile in Hungary. The group also performs various choreographies by renowned Hungarians like Ferenc Novák, Antal Kricskovics, Zoltán Zsuráfszki, and Zoltán Farkas.
The group gives over a hundred performances a year, but one of the most popular shows takes place once a week in the Danube Palace.
Danube Folk Ensemble Public Performances
The Danube Folk Ensemble regularly dances and plays at celebrations organized for political events or during national holidays (for example on August 20th and March 15th). These shows are performed either at the Buda Castle or the Parliament and are broadcast on national television.

At 8 pm. The performance has two parts, each of 45 minutes with an intermission.
