Gellért Thermal Bath
The Gellért bath is probably the best known in the city, whose main swimming pool has been featured in newspapers, commercials, and films.
The Gellért Thermal Bath, built in 1918 and expanded in 1927, is located in the Hotel Gellért, although it has its own access on one of the building’s wings.
An unusual fact is that the baths were built many years before the construction of the hotel.
Our Opinion
The main swimming pool is breathtaking; nevertheless, the rest of the spa isn’t as impressive and its facilities are a little old-fashioned. Another disadvantage is that the Gellért Thermal Bath is one of the most expensive spas in Budapest and its main swimming pool has cold water.
If you want to enjoy a relaxing and unwinding “spa experience”, we recommend visiting the Széchenyi Thermal Bath.
