Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at 1061 Oktogon Square 2, where we'll hop aboard the electric tuk-tuk and set off to explore the heart of Budapest!
Our first stop is the famous Andrássy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its grand architecture. As we cruise down this elegant boulevard, we'll take in the sights of Heroes’ Square, one of the most significant landmarks in the city, celebrating Hungary’s national leaders. We'll pause here for around 15 minutes, allowing you to explore the square and snap photos of the Hall of Art and the Fine Art Museum.
Next, we'll visit the fairy-tale-like Vajdahunyad Castle, set amidst the greenery of City Park, before passing by the imposing House of Terror. Here, our guide will share stories about this building's chilling past as a former Nazi and Soviet headquarters.
Our journey will then continue past the magnificent Hungarian State Opera House. We'll admire its grandeur, take some photos and learn about its rich history as we drive past. From there, we’ll move on to St. Stephen’s Basilica, the largest church in Budapest. As we make our way through the city, we'll be treated to views of the stunning Hungarian Parliament building, often considered the jewel of Budapest's skyline. We'll take a break in this pedestrian-friendly area, giving you plenty of time to explore this architectural masterpiece.
Afterwards, we'll continue to the Great Synagogue, one of the largest in the world. We'll also see the poignant Tree of Life Memorial, a tribute to the victims of the Holocaust. Then, we'll pass by the National Museum, as the guide offers insights into Hungary's rich cultural history. Crossing Liberty Bridge, we'll catch a glimpse of the Grand Market Hall, built in 1897, and one of the best places to experience local life. We'll also pass by the Gellért Bath, a renowned thermal spa, and admire the statue of Saint Gellért on Gellért Hill, overlooking the city.
Lastly, we'll explore Budapest’s majestic Buda Castle District. Here, we'll see Buda Palace, the historical seat of Hungary’s kings, and the enchanting Fisherman's Bastion, offering some of the best panoramic views of the city. A highlight of this area is Matthias Church, with its colourful tiled roof, a symbol of Budapest's medieval past.
Before heading back, we'll cross the iconic Chain Bridge, the oldest and most beautiful bridge in the city, offering picture-perfect views of both Buda and Pest.
Finally, after 2 hours of exploring, we'll return to Oktogon Square, where we'll say our goodbyes.
