Free Night Tour of Buda Castle
Description
Meet us at the Stone Sculpture Km 0, where we'll kick off our free night tour of the Buda Castle, once the royal residence of the Hungarian monarchy. Get ready to witness one of Budapest's most iconic symbols.
Our adventure starts with a warm welcome from the iconic lions of the Chain Bridge as we climb to the hilltop fortress. We'll traverse through its Renaissance gardens, and in this historic setting, we'll find the Várkert Bazaar – a Renaissance masterpiece designed by the architect Miklos Ybl, who notably frequented Café Felix during its construction.
Strolling past the Rondella, a medieval bastion, we'll venture into the Buda Castle. Here, from its battlements, we'll be treated to a fantastic Budapest sunset while discussing Hungarian history.
With the sun setting on the horizon, it'll be the perfect moment to take in the grandeur of the Sándor Palace, which serves as the residence of the President of the Republic of Hungary. Following this stop, we'll head to the historical heart of medieval Buda to see intriguing tidbits and hidden gems like Budapest native Harry Houdini's house!
Continuing on, we'll come to the Ruszwurm pastry shop, the oldest in Budapest and a favorite of Empress Sissi. We'll also pass the Church of St. Matthias and take in the iconic sights from the renowned Fisherman's Bastion. As we part ways, you'll be treated to an unparalleled view of the illuminated Parliament building to end our tour on a high note.
After 2 hours of Hungarian history and culture, we'll bring the tour to a close.
