Museum of Applied Arts, Budapest

Although this magnificent building with a green roof was damaged in 1945 and subsequently in 1956, it was completely restored and nowadays stands as majestic as it had when it was first built in 1896.

The building's interior

The building’s interior design is as impressive as its exterior. The museum’s entrance leads to an enormous atrium covered by a glass roof and surrounded by white-coloured cloisters. 

The Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest houses a varied and complete collection of textile, glass, ivory carvings, silver and gold items, music boxes, ceramics, porcelain, as well as an interesting collection of antiques and Ottoman carpets.

The museum also houses different types of jewellery, timekeeping devices, cutlery and works of art made from copper, brass, tin, wrought iron and other metals.

Its grandeur is impressive

Although the museum’s exhibitions are extremely interesting, we believe that the most impressive aspect of the Museum of Applied Arts is the building itself. Both the exterior and the interior are magnificent.
