The Budapest Card is a tourist pass that offers travelers free public transport and discounts for most of the city’s top attractions.

Is the Budapest card worth it?

Compared to other tourist city cards like the Prague Card, which is always worth purchasing, the Budapest Card depends on what type of holiday you wish to organize in Hungary’s capital.

A three-day Budapest Card costs 63 (US$ 67.10) and since it includes a travel card for Budapest’s public transport, you'll save up by not having to purchase a 72h travel card that costs approximately half the price. Depending on what you plan to visit in Budapest throughout the three days, it can either be worthwhile or not.

If you're planning on visiting several museums and attractions and you wish to eat in the restaurants included in the tourist pass, the card is probably worth purchasing.

You can choose between three options when buying the card: 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120 hours. The price of the 24-hour Budapest Card is 33 (US$ 35.10), 49 (US$ 52.20) for the 48-hour card and the 72-hour card is 63 (US$ 67.10), 77 (US$ 82) for 96 hours and 92 (US$ 98) for 120 hours.
